You are cordially invited to apply for the Chinese Management Research Methods Workshop to be held from July 13-20, 2005 at Xian Jiaotong University, China. The overall goal of the workshop is to develop and promote high quality management research in China. The 8-day research method training program will be packed with Lectures, Sample Research Discussions and Paper Development Sessions. One of the highlights in the workshop is Paper Development Sessions (PDS). We will ask each workshop participant to submit a working paper ahead of time. These papers will then be classified into about 10 to 12 groups based on their themes and topics (e.g., motivation theories, leadership, work teams, competitive strategy, and organizational design).  The actual themes will depend on the papers submitted. During the PDS, each group will be led by a faculty advisor who will help to provide developmental feedback for the authors. Workshop participants will benefit from in-depth feedback and from discussions of drafts of their papers with our faculty advisors guiding the sessions and from other participants working in similar research areas. The discussions will focus on constructive comments and recommendations for improving the papers to the level of quality that warrants publications in high quality journals.
