Jia (Jasmine) Hu(胡佳)The Ohio State University

Bio
Jia (Jasmine) Hu is a Full professor of management and Denman scholar at the Fisher College of Business, the Ohio State University. Jasmine leads the PhD program in Organizational Behavior and Human Resources (OBHR) at Fisher. Previously, Jasmine served on the faculty of the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame. Jasmine received her Ph.D. with concentrations in OBHR from University of Illinois at Chicago. Jasmine’s research is driven by fundamental questions facing modern organizations: What prosocial leadership qualities and behaviors help improve teams’ long-term effectiveness? And why, how, and when do these have a prosocial impact?  Jasmine ranked among the Top 10 most productive leadership scholars worldwide between 2011 and 2017. Her work has appeared in leading management journals such as the Academy of Management Journal (AMJ), Journal of Applied Psychology (JAP), Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes (OBHDP), Personnel Psychology (PPsych), and Leadership Quarterly. Her research and insights have also been mentioned in numerous media outlets, such as the Washington Post, Forbes, Harvard Business Review, the New York Times, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Jasmine currently serves as a deputy editor of Management and Organizational Review and on the editorial boards of seven leading management journals including AMJ, JAP, OBHDP, PPsych, Journal of Management, Human Relations, and Journal of Organizational Behavior.  Jasmine has taught courses on leadership for an MBA program, a Dean’s leadership academy program, and the OBHR PhD program.  Jasmine was named a “Best 40 under 40 Professor” by Poets and Quants in 2021. In terms of applied experiences, Jasmine served as an academic consultant for McKinsey & Company (New York) and has conducted a number of field research in various companies from different industries in both the U.S. and China.

Pei Sun(孙霈)University of Manchester

Bio
Dr. Pei SUN is Professor and Chair of International Business at Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS), University of Manchester, UK. He received his B.A. from Peking University, China, and his Ph.D. from Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, U.K. Before joining AMBS in 2019, he was a full Professor at the School of Management, Fudan University, China, and a lecturer (assistant professor) at Nottingham University Business School, UK. 

His research interests involve corporate governance and stakeholder/nonmarket strategy, with a particular focus on how foreign and domestic firms manage and exploit institutional complexity and changes in emerging economies and how their strategies and corporate governance arrangements impact upon firm outcomes, stakeholders, and wider society. He has published papers in renowned academic journals such as Academy of Management JournalAcademy of Management PerspectivesJournal of Business EthicsJournal of International Business StudiesJournal of Management, and Journal of Management Studies. His research papers have received awards from the annual conferences of Academy of Management and Strategic Management Society. The Oxford Handbook of State Capitalism and the Firm, in which he serves as a co-editor, is to be published by Oxford University Press in 2022. 

He has been an associate editor of British Journal of Management since 2017 and served as a senior editor of Asia Pacific Journal of Management (2019-2021). He currently serves as a guest editor of the special issue for the Journal of Management Studies. He is on the editorial boards of Academy of Management Perspectives, Corporate Governance: An International Review, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management Studies, and Journal of World Business. He has been an organization committee member and track chair for the Academy of International Business Annual Conferences in 2014 and 2021. He was a member of the Research Committee, International Association of Chinese Management Research (IACMR, 2017-2021).

He is a frequent reviewer for such world-leading journals as Academy of Management JournalAdministrative Science QuarterlyJournal of Management, Organization Science, and Strategic Management Journal, and for other prestigious organizations such as Cambridge University Press, China’s National Natural Science Foundation, and Research Grants Council of Hong Kong.

He has a broad range of teaching experience in most business school programmes, including undergraduate, taught master, MPhil/PhD, MBA, and executive training. His broad teaching interests lie in corporate governance, international business strategy, and business/managerial economics. He received teaching excellence award/commendation from AMBS and the School of Management, Fudan University. He is a frequent commentator on economic, business, and managerial issues in both Chinese and global media, and has provided policy advice and consulting service to numerous multinational and Chinese companies.

Helen H. Zhao University of Hong Kong

Bio
Helen Hailin Zhao is a tenured Associate Professor of Management & Strategy at the Faculty of Business and Economics, The University of Hong Kong. She received her Ph.D. degree from The University of Iowa in 2015, M.Phil degree (High distinction) and BBA degree (First class honors) from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She has published eight top-tier journal articles such as Academy of Management Journal and Journal of Applied Psychology, one book chapter, more than twenty conference papers, two practical journal papers and has given dozens of invited talks to research and practice audience. She serves as the Principal Investigator in two research funds supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China and Hong Kong SAR Research Grants Council and serves as a Co-investigator of a large-scale knowledge transfer government fund. Her research findings are not only recognized in the academia, but also are widely cited by popular press such as Harvard Business Review and Forbes.

Helen is a phenomenon-driven researcher with a problem-solving mentality. Almost all of her research projects are inspired by a problem in practice or theory, followed by an extensive search for a solution to the problem in multiple research programs and analytic methods. Through collaboration with top scholars in different fields, Helen is dedicated in a wide range of novel and complex problems in leadership, team, work design, compensation, and performance management. With the digitization progress made in China, management phenomena have shown new features, such as big data and artificial intelligence. Consistent with this trend, Helen has started to work on time series data, complex network data and behavioral big data, and the analytic methods she applied are not only in the fields of psychometrics andeconometrics, but also have been extended to the frontier of data science.

Yuntao Dong(董韫韬)Peking University

Bio
Yuntao is an associate professor in the Department of Organization and Strategy at Guanghua School of Management, Peking University. She received her Ph.D. from University of Maryland, College Park, and worked at University of Connecticut as an assistant professor before joining Peking University. Her research focuses on leadership and leader empowerment, creativity and proactivity, and employee and organizational resilience. Yuntao’s work has been published in Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied PsychologyJournal of Organizational BehaviorManagement and Organization Management, and Harvard Business Review (Online) and is regarded as ESI highly cited paper. Yuntao is serving as senior editor of Management and Organization Review and guest editor of Human Resources Development of China, and has reviewed for multiple academic journals including Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Process, Personnel Psychology, and Acta Psychologica Sinica.

Jinkai Cheng (程进凯)Renmin University of China

Bio
Jinkai Cheng is a Ph.D. candidate at the School of Labor and Human Resources, Renmin University of China, and a joint Ph.D. candidate at Nanyang Business School in Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He received his master’s degree from the Central University of Finance and Economics, China. His research interests include motivation to lead, leadership emergence, shared leadership, and telecommuting. His studies have presented in the management journals and conferences. In addition, he has worked on several funded research projects, which were supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and Central Universities.

Yue Wang (王月)Rice University

Bio
Yue Wang is a Ph.D. candidate in Strategic Management at Rice University. Her research interests include corporate governance, non-market strategy and innovation. Before PhD, She earned her M.A. and B.A from Guanghua School of Management, Peking University. She has several papers accepted by AOM and IACMR.
