The School
The School of Management was founded in 1985. It has 8 departments, and offers 4 undergraduate programs in Business Administration, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, and Engineering Management and 2 bilingual Experimental Classes (Business Administration and Intelligent Engineering and Management). It also offers 5 academic master’s degree programs in Accounting, Enterprise Management, Tourism Management, Marketing, and Management Science and Engineering, and 7 professional master’s degree programs in Auditing, Accounting, Industrial Engineering and Management, Business Administration (MBA/EMBA), Tourism Management, Engineering Management and International Project Management (English-track). The School has 3 doctoral degree programs in Business Administration, Accounting and Management Science and Engineering. Our school has more than 4,000 students, making it one of the largest schools in Shandong University.
Its Research
Our School has an academic team with high-level scholars as the core, young and middle-aged faculty as the backbone, and scholars at home and abroad. There are 157 full-time faculty, including 40 professors and 71 associate professors.
Since 2018, our faculty have undertaken 67 national-level research projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Social Science Foundation of China and National Key Research and Development Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, and 92 ministerial and provincial level projects funded by Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education of China and the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the CPC.
Our researchers have published more than 500 research papers in domestic and international academic journals, including Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Production and Operations Management, and Journal of Applied Psychology and Management World. Our faculty also has a reputation for the impact of our research work, as we have received 38 awards at ministerial and provincial levels.
Social Responsibility
Our School is committed to contribute to the social, economic, and cultural success of the local and national community by using our expertise and knowledge.
Responding to national and regional development strategies, such as the “Belt and Road” initiative and the project of transiting from old to new growth drivers, our School partners with a range of organizations and institutes to address major challenges. We establish the Shandong Talent Development Strategy Research Institute in cooperation with the Organization Department of Shandong Provincial Party Committee; we also set up Culture and Tourism Development Research Base of Shandong Province, partnering with the Tourism Industry Research Institute of e Shandong University and the Tourism Think Tank of Shandong Major Project of New and Old Kinetic Energy Conversion. Our research institutes, such as Corporate Governance Research Center of Shandong University, offer innovative solutions for government decision-making and enterprise development.
Our School also run a wide-ranging programme of public events. We established collaborative relationships with various enterprise groups, including China Electronics Technology Company, SAP, the Jinan Branch of the National Audit Office, Eighth Engineering Division of China Construction Corp. Ltd., Shandong Tudi Company, Hisense Group,Tsingtao Brewery Group, and Ziguang Xinhua San Group. Out school has invited renowned entrepreneurs from companies such as Energy Group, Kute Intelligence, and Shandong Iron and Steel Group to give lectures. We have also successfully organized forums and seminars, such as the “9th China Management Forum”, “China Business Management Seminar on Case Teaching and Development”, “China Enterprise Management Development Forum”, “11th National MBA Business Seminar on Ethics and Social Responsibility Teaching”, and “the 9th China Management Scholars Exchange Camp”.
International Cooperation
Attaching great importance to high-level scholarly exchanges and visits, the School actively expands international cooperation to provide diversified learning opportunities for faculty and students. The School has successively established cooperative relationships with a number of universities in the U.S., Canada, France and other countries, and hired faculty from Italy, the U.K., Australia, and many other countries and regions to give lectures. In recent years, the undergraduate and professional master’s degree programs in Engineering Management have passed the re-accreditation of the Project Management Institute Global Accreditation Center for Project Management Education Programs (PMI-GAC).
