1. IACMR Conference system revamping and new website development
Early in September 2016, the IACMR Executive Committee decided to revamp the official website and the conference system which has been running for over 14 years. IACMR China Office started searching potential suppliers and some IT companies had been identified for comparison and assessment before the negotiating meetings in last November and December. After careful comparison of development capacity, service quality, price and their previous experience in meeting similar technical demands to ours, E-Tiller Company was selected to develop the IACMR conference system and ZhiwebCompany to develop the IACMR new website. The two contracts were signed in late last December and early January this year. Both companies have been working on webpage designs, technical development and system improvement. The two projects are approaching the final stage and to be ready for testing soon. The new website and conference system are about to be launched in June.

● Inaugural GSM — IACMR MBA Case Teaching Workshop
The inaugural MBA Case Method Teaching Workshop co-organized by Guanghua School of Management and IACMR was held successfully on April 10th, 2017 in Guanghua School. Over 40 faculty members from PKU, Tsinghua University, the Central University of Finance and Economics, Zhejiang University and Sun Yat-Sen University attended the training workshop. IACMR President, Prof. Neng Liang demonstrated how to do case teaching step by step by going through a few carefully selected cases. Six groups were formed to discuss about solutions of different roles in the cases, and Prof. Liang guided the participants to further their discussions by introducing carefully-phased case materials. In the end, Prof. Liang introduced the four stages of case teaching method: i.e.‘introduce, polarize, analyze and summarize’, and the Case Triangle Theory of “Scenario (real-controversial-with element of surprise)– Theory – Teaching Aim”.Prof. Liang’s rich experience in teaching cases with CEIBSand his demonstration have greatly benefited all the participants.
Prof. Neng Liang
Following Prof. Liang’s sessions, IACMR Vice President, Prof. Zhixue Zhang shared with all participants his experience of ‘participative teaching’ method which focuses on students’ participation in class instead of teachers’ straight delivery of contents. Prof. Zhang introduced three key methods of case teaching: case discussion, simulation and role play, behavior survey and feedback. By employing such methods, the participants were fully involved in classroom discussions and encouraged to find solutions to the problems presented in the cases. In this way, the workshop participants had chances to combine their own experience with the case problems and thus really enhance their abilities of case analysis.
