I am excited to announce the appointment of Professor Xiao-Ping Chen, the Condit Endowed Chair in Business Administration, University of Washington, as the next Editor-in-Chief of Management and Organization Review (MOR).  Her four-year term begins January 2022. 

Professor Chen is an accomplished scholar who is a Fellow of both the Academy of Management and the American Psychological Association.  She was the Editor-in-Chief of Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes(OBHDP) from 2010 to 2016, and is the founding and current editor of Management Insights.   She was the President of IACMR from 2006-2008, and served as Associate Dean of the Foster School of Business, University of Washington, from 2016-2020.  Professor Chen has given keynote talks to universities and companies throughout China and across the globe.   Professor Chen earned her B.A. from Zhejiang University, and her Ph.D. from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.   

The search committee is thrilled with Professor Chen’s academic knowledge, editorial experience, and deep knowledge of management in China.  We expect MOR to thrive under her leadership.  

We also need to recognize the continuing strong leadership of Professor Arie Lewin, the current EIC of MOR.  He has been EIC for 8 years, and has more than a year still as EIC.  Professor Chen will build off the work that Arie has done — and continues to do — and the work Professor Anne Tsui did as founding EIC of MOR.  MOR also depends on the ongoing support of our publisher, Cambridge University Press.
