Host Schools and City of 2020 Conference
The 9th IACMR conference will be held in Xi’an from June 17 to 21, 2020. It will be jointly organized by Guanghua School of Management (GSM) Xi’an Campus, Peking University and the School of Management, Xi’an Jiaotong University. The main conference site will be at GSM Xi’an Campus and two adjacent hotels: Angsana Hotel and Elegant Oriental Hotel.
Xi’an is an important birthplace of Chinese civilization and Chinese nation. Xi’an (ancient name Chang’an) was the capital of 13 ancient dynasties. Xi’an is also one of the best tourist destinations and cities with the best international image in China. In Xi’an, there are six heritage sites on the world heritage list, namely, the Mausoleum of First Qin Emperor and the terracotta warriors, the Great Wild Goose Pagoda, the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, the Daming Gong Palace site of Tang dynasty, the Weiyang Palace site of Han dynasty, and the Tower of Xingjiao Temple Pagoda. In addition, there are also some other scenic spots in Xi’an, such as Xi’an Circumvallation, Bell Tower, Drum Tower, Huaqing Pool, Zhongnan Mountains, Furong Park, Shaanxi History Museum, Forest of Steles. Xi’an is also an important science and education center of China. It has seven “double-top” universities, such as Xi’an Jiaotong University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, and Xidian University.
GSM Xi’an Campus was open on May 28, 2014. Its establishment is an important strategic deployment of supporting social and economic sustainable development in western China. It is also the practical action made by Peking University to implement the Belt and Road strategy of China. With excellent staff and service team, alumni resources, international network of Peking University, and with the support of local governments and enterprises, GSM Xi’an Campus has gradually become the western innovative talent training base relying on the resources of Peking University.
Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) is one of the oldest universities in China that could be dated back to 1896. It is a comprehensive research university and one of the first batch of universities among the “Project 211” and “Project 985” to develop into a world-class university. The School of Management of XJTU is proud of two state first-level key disciplines – Management Science and Engineering and Business Administration and it is also one of the first schools offering MBA and EMBA in China. In 2011, the school was accredited with AACSB.
GSM Xi’an Campus is located in Lintong District, only 20 minutes’ away from the Museum of Terracotta Warriors. We warmly welcome scholars home and abroad to attend the conference and appreciate the charm of the ancient capital!
