1. 2020 Grant Winners of Kwok Leung Memorial Dissertation Fund
The 5th Kwok Leung Memorial Dissertation Fund Call for Proposals was announced on March 18, 2020. By the submission deadline of June 15, 2020, 15 valid proposals had been received from students of 15 universities worldwide. The IACMR Research Committee members, co-chaired by David Zhu (Arizona State University) and Jasmine Hu (The Ohio State University), reviewed and assessed the submitted proposals, each of which received at least two reviews. Five proposals received the highest ratings and have won Kwok Leung Memorial Dissertation Fund grants, please click here for the winner list, each winner has been awarded a grant of RMB 10,000 yuan.
2. IACMR Research Seminar Series
The second session of IACMR Research Seminar Series was launched on July 22 via Zoom. The speaker was Professor Xiao-Ping Chen from University of Washington. The third session of IACMR Research Seminar Series was launched on August 26 on line. The speaker was Professor Heli Wang from Singapore Management University, the topic of her speech was Heaven is High and the Emperor is Far Away: Information Asymmetry, State Inattention, and Firm Implementation of State Environmental Policy, please click here for the full video of the speech.
3.IACMR Young Scholar Development Seminars
IACMR Young Scholar Development Series is a monthly, zoom-based seminar series. Through this platform, we hope to provide IACMR members especially young scholars a place to seek advices in career development (both in research and teaching), as well as a place of experience sharing with their peers, especially during these times of restricted travel.
The first session of IACMR Young Scholar Development Series was launched on July 14 via Zoom. The title of this session was Way out: Career Development for Junior faculty, the organizer was Associate Professor Amy Ou from Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The speakers were Zhijun Chen from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Fuli Li from Xi’an Jiaotong University and Amy Ou, please click here to watch the full video of the seminar.
The second session of IACMR Young Scholar Development Series was launched on August 11 via Zoom. The organizer of this session was Professor Yucheng Zhang from Hebei University of Technology and the title was Academic Road, You’ll Never Walk Alone, the speakers were Professor Guiquan Li from Rennes School of Business, Professor Long Zhang from Hunan University and Yucheng Zhang,please click here for the full video of the session.
The third session of the seminar series will be held on September 8 via Zoom. Wenhao Luo from North China University of Technology is organizing this session and the speakers are Guanglei Zhang from Wuhan University of Technology, Jianfeng Jia from Northeastern University and Wenhao Luo, they will discuss the theme of Teaching Experience and Reflections. 4. IACMR-RRBM “Responsible Research in Management Award” 2020 Winners Webinar I
We are delighted to honor 2020 “Responsible Research in Management Award” winners through a series of three webinars on Zoom. Scholars are invited to attend and learn from the award-winning authors on how to conduct meaningful and publishable responsible research. The first webinar has been held on August 6th, please click here to watch the video. Two more webinars will be scheduled on October 6 (please click here for details) and early December this year to honor other award winners.
5. 2020 IACMR Teaching Workshop
2020 IACMR “The Scholarship and Methods of Teaching” Workshop was scheduled to be held in Dalian, China and hosted by Dongbei University of Finance and Economics. Due to the impact of the epidemic, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics will be the host school of the workshop. IACMR would like to express our gratitude to both schools for their strong support toward the workshop. The enrollment list of the workshop has been released.
6. Winner list of “Opt-in IACMR Email List and Win One Year IACMR Membership and Other Gifts!”
From September 1, 2020, we will only send email announcements to those who are willing to receive. In early July, IACMR launched the “ Opt-in IACMR Email List and Win One Year IACMR Membership and Other Gifts!” By August 15, more than 1,200 members chose to receive IACMR emails, we have 13 winners in total. Now IACMR has informed the winners and gifts will be sent out after collecting winners’ addresses.

1. Incoming Editor-in-Chief of Management and Organization Review
Professor Xiao-Ping Chen, the Condit Endowed Chair in Business Administration, University of Washington, is appointed as the next Editor-in-Chief of Management and Organization Review (MOR). Her four-year term begins January 2022.
2. MOR Special Issue| China’s Outward Foreign Direct Investment to Africa
MOR special issue PDW China’s Outward Foreign Direct Investment to Africa will be held during July 15-18, 2021,the local host is Gordon School of Business, University of Pretoria (South Africa), please click here to get more information.

This issue of MOR is special in two ways.
