This panel will discuss two recent trends in academic community with a focus on their implications to China. The first is increased attention by key journals to openness and transparency of research procedure and importance of replication. The second is the need to produce useful knowledge for addressing current and future challenges in business and society.
The panel members will discuss these recent developments and engage the audience in a debate on the responsible research ideal. Is it realistic? What can we do to help business schools in China (or elsewhere) to create a research ecosystem supporting the production of credible and useful knowledge?
Panel members and main remarks
Gerry George: Overview of the responsible research ecosystem and principles
Anne Tsui: New journal requirements to increase credible knowledge
Bill Glick: New initiatives to increase useful knowledge
