Invitation to participate in AMR Idea Development Workshops in Hong Kong and Beijing, June 2025
Dear Esteemed Scholars,
On behalf of the Academy of Management Review (AMR), I’m writing to share with you an exciting news: AMR will be hosting two Idea Development Workshops (IDWs) in Asia in June 2025, one in Hong Kong and another in Beijing! We welcome ideas at any stages; all you need to do is to submit a 350-word abstract of your conceptual idea.
Details:
Date | Location | Registration Link |
June 24 (Tuesday) | City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong (sponsored by Department of Management) | https://aom.org/events/event-detail/2025/06/24/higher-logic-calendar/amr-idea-development-workshop-hong-kong |
June 28 (Saturday) | Tsinghua University, Beijing (sponsored by Department of Leadership and Organization Management) | https://aom.org/events/event-detail/2025/06/28/higher-logic-calendar/amr-idea-development-workshop-beijing-china |
Each workshop has two parts. Participants can apply to participate in the first part (morning session) only or to participate in the first and second parts (morning and afternoon sessions). In the first part, we will provide information about publishing in AMR. The AMRteam will discuss what makes a successful AMR paper, why papers are rejected, and how to address the core challenges often seen in rejected papers. In the second part, we offer roundtable discussions of participants’ ideas for papers to be submitted to AMR. We will match participants with a facilitator such as an Associate Editor or Editorial Board member, who will discuss and provide feedback on these ideas. Participation in this part of the workshop is limited.
The deadline to submit your 350-word abstract for both IDWs is 2 May 2025, and you will learn about the decision by mid/late May.
If you have any questions about either of these IDWs, please feel free to email me or connect with me through WeChat (id: chakfulam).
We look forward to seeing you in Hong Kong and/or Beijing!
Sincerely,
Chak Fu Lam
