Learning Objectives

By the end of this workshop, participants will:

1.     Master the ethical principles and responsible practices for using generative AI in academic research
2.     Develop effective prompt engineering skills for academic tasks 
3.      Learn efficient strategies for AI-assisted literature review and academic writing
4.     Understand best practices for integrating AI tools in research processes

Workshop Content

Session 1 (55 minutes)

1.     Foundations & Tool Selection (25 minutes) 

  • Introduction to major AI models (GPT series, Claude, Gemini)
  • Comparing AI tools for different research tasks
  • Prompt engineering fundamentals and examples
  • Practical tool selection strategies
  • Academic integrity in the AI era

2.     Literature Review & Research Design (30 minutes)

  • Literature search and synthesis strategies

  • Hands-on exercises with academic examples

Session 2 (55 minutes)
