School of Business of Nanjing University
Nanjing University is located in Nanjing, a beautiful city known for being China’s capital for six ancient dynasties. With a history of more than one hundred years, the University has a rich historical and cultural heritage.
The School of Business, Nanjing University (NUBS) was established in 1988. Ever since then, with the aim of “cultivating first-class talents, producing first-class research results, and providing first-class social services,” the faculty and staff of the NUBS have been working hard on innovation and have made a great achievement in specialty construction, talent cultivation, scientific research, social services, and international exchange.
We insist on going international and especially emphasize the concept of “internationalization and openness” with respect to faculty recruitment, textbook building, scientific research, and talent training. After years of efforts, we have laid down a solid foundation in internationalization.
We always insist that all the resources should be shared and a new mechanism beneficial to specialty construction should be built up in order to promote the parallel development of the disciplines of both economics and management. In curricula construction, we have created elite courses to ensure that the curricula better meet the need of social development and that the teaching and learning better serve the society.
We have been trying our best to build up our faculty team. In order to provide favorable conditions for their development, we have successively established several policies to encourage young faculty members to study abroad, apply for research projects, and conduct cases studies.
The NUBS owes its development to the concerns of domestic and overseas alumni and alumnae, to the great support from governments at different levels, enterprises, fellow universities, schools, and academic research institutes, and to the sincerity and dedication of all the faculty, students, and staff formerly and currently associated with the NUBS. Therefore, on behalf of the faculty and students, I would like to sincerely acknowledge and offer utmost gratitude to all the leaders, friends, and alumni and alumnae who have cared, helped, and supported the building and development of the NUBS. I firmly believe that, with our joint efforts, the NUBS will succeed as expected and produce a splendid future!
