1. Call for Applications | 2022 IACMR Research Methods Workshop

You are cordially invited to apply for the IACMR Research Methods Workshop to be held from July 11-14, 2022, at Lanzhou University, Lanzhou, China. The purposes of the workshop are to introduce the major research methods involved in designing a high-quality research project, to provide instructions on developing a research project that will make a meaningful contribution to knowledge and practice, and to build relationships with world-class management scholars. The 4-day program will consist of lectures and intensive discussion sessions for developing your research proposals. The workshop’s ultimate goal is to help develop research projects that will address important management problems and be publishable in international (English) academic journals. In addition to lectures, students/faculty with similar research interests will be put into the same discussion groups. Workshop participants will benefit from in-depth feedback and discussions of their proposal with the faculty advisors guiding the sessions and the other participants working in similar research areas. 2. IACMR Research Seminar Series Session 16-17

The 16th session of IACMR Research Seminar Series was held at 9:00 a.m. on September 22, 2021. Professor Dong Liu from Georgia Institute of Technology gave a speech themed Event System Theory: Insights and Applications in Organizational Research in English, please click here for the video record.

The 17th IACMR Research Seminar Series was held online on October 27 at 9:00 a.m. Professor David Zhu from Arizona State University gave a lecture titled Do Investors Prefer Democratic or Republican CEOs? A Systematic Study of Shareholder Reactions to New CEOs’ Political Ideologies, the lecture was well received by the audience, please click here for the video record.

3. IACMR Teaching and Learning Forum Session 1

To better accomplish IACMR mission of “to advance the science, education and practice of Chinese management”, and taking advantage of the recent breakthrough in IT technology, IACMR has decided to launch an online “Teaching and Learning Forum”, starting in October 2021. IACMR “Teaching and Learning Forum” is a bi-monthly, online-based seminar series. We invite leading scholars who are also master teachers in the field of management and education, from all over the world, to speak on this platform. The purpose is to help those IACMR members with a passion to education to become excellent teachers themselves and, through their efforts, to further enhance the quality of management education in China.

The 1st session of IACMR Teaching and Learning Forum was held on October 13, the theme was How Relevant Teaching Might Really Mean, the speakers of this session were Professor Jean Bartunek from Boston College and Professor Isabelle Yi Ren from Montclair State University。 Profesoor Neng Liang of CEIBS chaired this session. 3. Special Issue | Chinese Technology Ventures in the Digital Era: Strategic Leadership, Decision Making Process, and Governance

We are in the digital era. big data, artificial intelligence, and other emerging technologies are transforming the nature of business and enabling new business models, new organizational structures, and new modes of entrepreneurship. These new forms of business practices generate great challenges for organizational leaders to develop successful strategies. Entrepreneurs face the speed and magnitude of change that technology brings, the significantly greater level of uncertainty, and the higher costs of failure. We welcome a variety of topics and issues related to strategic leadership, decision-making processes, and governance of Chinese tech ventures in the digital era. 2. 2021 RRBM Doctoral Dissertation Scholarship

Up to eight scholarships of $10,000 each will be awarded to doctoral students in business schools who are conducting dissertation research aligned with the 2021 RRBM Principles of Responsible Research. Eligible research topics will focus on economic inequality, racial, gender or other forms of social justice in organizations, thereby contributing to meeting one or more of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Please click here for the notification.
