• IACMR News
1.   IACMR 2025 Conference Review will Begin Soon
We have released the call for papers (including the submission links), and the submission system start accepting conference papers, symposia, and PDW submissions from 12:00 PM (Beijing Time) on September 16, 2024. By the submission deadline, we had received over 1,200 submissions from 21 countries and regions around the world. The review stage will soon begin, and if you have registered as a reviewer for the IACMR 2025 Conference, you will receive 2-4 review assignments in the near future. Please keep an eye on your email notifications. Additionally, we are still welcoming more scholars to join our team of reviewers. (Link to register as a reviewer)

2.    IACMR Membership Survey
As IACMR reaches its 20th anniversary milestone and embarks on a new phase, we are conducting a membership survey starting on September 25 to gather opinions and suggestions from IACMR members. The goal of this survey is to better achieve the objectives of the association and facilitate collaboration between IACMR members and the leadership. We highly value the input from our members, and based on the feedback, we will make improvements to better serve the management research community.

3.    IACMR Research Seminar Series Session 51 and 52 Held Online
Session 51: Held on September 18, 2024, via Zoom. The speaker was Professor Fang Lee Cooke from Monash Business School, with a lecture on From Strategic HRM to Sustainable HRM? Exploring a Common-Good Approach. The session was hosted by Professor Yucheng Zhang from the University of Southampton, and the language of the seminar was Chinese.

Session 52: Held on October 10, 2024, via Zoom. The speaker was Professor Brian Connelly from Auburn University, Harbert College of Business, with a lecture on Emerging Issues in Corporate Ownership. The session was hosted by Professor Susanna Li from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and the language of the seminar was English.

Session 53: Will be held on November 20, 2024, via Zoom. The speaker will be Professor Maria Kraimer from the University at Buffalo, with the theme of The Role of Replication Studies in Addressing the Credibility Crisis in Scientific Research. The session will be hosted by Professor Jie Feng from Rutgers University, and the language will be English. You can register [here].

4.    IACMR Teaching Seminar Series Session 8
The 8th session of the IACMR Teaching Seminar Series will be held on November 7, 2024, via Zoom. The speaker will be Professor Wei Zeng from Hunan University, presenting on the topic of Hybrid Course Design Based on Ability-Motivation-Opportunity (AMO) Theory – Using Human Resource Management as an Example. The session will be hosted by Professor Song Wang from Zhejiang University, and the language of the seminar will be Chinese. You can register [here].

5.    Recap: IACMR Women’s Development Seminar Series Session 1
The first session of the IACMR Women’s Development Seminar Series focused on Balance, Resilience, and Mental Health at Different Career Stages. It was moderated by Professor Jia (Jasmine) Hu from Tsinghua University, co-chair of the IACMR Women’s Development Support Committee. Guest speakers included Professor Jing Zhou from Rice University, Professor Ningyu Tang from Hainan University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Associate Professor Song Wang from Zhejiang University, and Associate Professor Wei Zeng from Hunan University. 6. Nominations Open for the First IACMR-PUP “Chinese Management Thought” Outstanding Book Award
To encourage and recognize original (non-translated) books in the field of Chinese management, the International Association for Chinese Management Research (IACMR) and Peking University Press have jointly established the IACMR-PUP “Chinese Management Thought” Outstanding Book Award. This award is open to nominations of original, non-translated management books published before the nomination deadline. The books will be reviewed by an award committee organized by IACMR, and 1 to 3 books will be selected in each round. The selected books should have made significant contributions to theoretical research, research methodology, entrepreneurial practice, or education as a textbook in the field of Chinese management. The award is presented biennially, and the award ceremony will be held at the next IACMR biennial conference. Cash prizes of 10,000 RMB will be awarded to the author(s) or editor(s) of each winning book. Nominations are currently open, and you can click here to learn more.

7. IACMR-OS Special Webinar: Meeting with Organization Science Editors
We are honored to announce an exclusive webinar featuring Professor Lamar Pierce, Editor-in-Chief of Organization Science, along with other senior editors. Management and Organization Review (MOR) Updates

1.Lights on MOR | Interview with Professor Zhi-Xue Zhang: Responsible Leadership Addressing Major Social Issues
Recently, ProfessorZhi-Xue Zhang from Peking University’s Guanghua School of Management was featured in the “Lights on MOR!” series by Management and Organization Review (MOR). In the interview with Professor Ray Friedman from Vanderbilt University, Zhang discussed his co-authored paper, Taking the Path Less Traveled: How Responsible Leadership Addresses a Grand Challenge in Public Health (Zhang, Z.-X., Yi, X., & Dong, Y., 2023), which he wrote in collaboration with Xiwei Yi and Yuntao Dong. The video series, co-produced by MOR and Cambridge University Press, features Ray Friedman’s interviews with authors of MOR’s outstanding papers, providing readers with in-depth insights into the research and its implications for Chinese management practices and global management science. This symposium will be held on October 26, 2024 (Saturday), co-hosted by IACMR and the School of Business at Renmin University of China. The theme of the symposium is Opportunities and Challenges of AI in Strategic Management and Organizational Innovation. The symposium will take place at Renmin University of China, Beijing.
