- IACMR 2023 Hong Kong Conference Report
The 2023 IACMR Biennial Conference kicked off on June 14, 2023, which was the first IACMR onsite conference in five years since the 2018 Wuhan IACMR Conference. The theme of this year’s conference was “Globalization in Flux: China and the World“. The conference was hosted by the Hong Kong Baptist University. Nearly 1,500 participants from 21 countries and regions attended the conference, which featured 170 academic programs including 5 keynote speeches, 10 symposiums, 49 roundtable discussions, 95 paper presentations, and 21 paper development workshops. IACMR Research Seminar Series Session #36-37
The topic of the 36th session of IACMR Research Seminar Series was The Bamboo Ceiling in US Business Schools: Who Receives Tenure and Becomes Dean? The speaker was Jackson G. Lu from MIT Sloan School of Management and Professor Ning Li from Tsinghua University hosted it on May 17 2023 via zoom.
The 37th session of IACMR Research Seminar Series was held on June 7, 2023 and the title was Revolutionizing Emotional Labor in Organizations: Artificial Intelligence (AI) to the Rescue, the speaker was Professor Nan Jia from University of Southern California. Please click here for the recording.
IACMR Teaching and Learning Forum session #2
The 2nd session of IACMR Teaching and Learning Forum was held on June 29, 2023, the theme was “教不好”的管理课程：进退与探索and the speaker was Professor Wenhao Luo from North China University of Technology, Professor Wei Zeng from Hunan University hosted the seminar, the summary of the talk is accessible here (in Chinese).
2023 Grant Winners of Kwok Leung Memorial Dissertation Fund
This is the 8th year to invite proposals for the fund grant. The Call for Proposals was announced on March 13, 2023. By the submission deadline of April 15, 2023, 45 valid proposals had been received from students worldwide. The IACMR Research Committee members, co-chaired by Lori (Qingyuan) Yue (Columbia Business School), Eric Zhao (University of Oxford), Ning Li (Tsinghua University) and Wu Liu (Hong Kong Polytechnic University) reviewed and assessed the submitted proposals. The following five proposals (listed in alphabetical order of the authors’ last name) received the highest ratings and have won Kwok Leung Memorial Dissertation Fund grants.

On June 16, 2023, Management Insights Themed Salon at IACMR 2023 Conference was successfully held at Hong Kong Baptist University. Prof. Xiongwen Lu, Editor-in-Chief of Management Insights and Prof. Xiao-Ping Chen, Executive Editor of Management Insights had an in-depth interactive exchange with the attendees on the positioning, content topics, and reading interaction of the magazine. 2. New Book｜IACMR Book Series
The New Book launching Conference of Organizational Management: Chinese Corporate Perspectives in the Age of Digital Intelligenceand Empirical Methods for Organization and Management Research (4th Edition), jointly organized by IACMR and Peking University Press, was successfully held at the Hong Kong Baptist University during the IACMR 2023 Conference. More than ten authors, including the editors-in-chief of the two books, Zhi-Xue Zhang, Xiao-Ping Chen, and Wei Shen, as well as the Assistant Editor-in-chief of Peking University Press, Junxiu Lin, participated in the launch event.
